TROY (WWJ) -- An auto theft suspect is in custody after a dramatic chase, early Friday afternoon in Troy.
WWJ Newsradio 950's Jonathan Carlson, who witnessed the incident, reported that it came to an end in auto body shop parking lot, at the corner of Maple and Crooks Rd., where police blocked the suspect in.
"The manager of that auto body shop said she saw that car theft suspect — who police say is either a car or truck theft suspect — run across the road from police and into her business' parking lot...And then about a dozen Troy Police cars quickly descended on the parking lot," Carlson reported.
"They cornered the guy, got him into custody literally within minutes, safely."
Carlson said, prior to the arrest, there were multiple officers in the area looking for the suspect.
Police have not yet released information about the stolen vehicle or the circumstances surrounding the theft. Police told Carlson they were still sorting out the details.
No injuries were reported.
