DETROIT (WWJ) -- After asking the public for tips, the Detroit Police Department says it has identified a person who was found dead last week on the city's east side.
Releasing a sketch on Friday, the Detroit Police Department said the body of an unidentified woman was discovered at around 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov 1.
Police did not say exactly where the woman was found, or how it's believed she died.
She was described as a Black female, with a heavy build and brown eyes. She was wearing a black top, blue jeans, a white Nike shoe and jewelry (pictured below).

Issuing an update Sunday evening, police said the woman in the sketch has been identified.
Police did not immediately release the woman's name, and added that no further information is available at this time.
The DPD thanked the media and the public for their assistance.
