(WWJ) There are no known suspects, and not a lot of information as Detroit Police begin investigating two shootings in the city, late Sunday into early Monday.
First, at around 11:35 p.m. Sunday — in the 17300 block of Mansfield, just east of the Southfield Freeway near Outer Drive — police said a 20-year-old man was shot by an unknown gunman.
The wounded victim ran away after the shooting and drove himself to a local hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
Police said further circumstances surrounding the incident are still being
investigated. Anyone with information is asked to call the Detroit Police
Department's Eighth Precinct Investigative Unit at 313-596-5840 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak Up (1-800-773-2587). As always, those who call Crime Stoppers will remain 100% anonymous.
Hours later, at around 4:50 a.m. Monday, police said a 38-year-old man was shot somewhere in Detroit and taken to a local hospital for treatment.
As the investigation is just getting underway, police said they did not know where the shooting happened, or who the shooter might be,
The victim was treated for a gunshot wound and was last listed in stable condition, police said.
