(WWJ) The numbers are out after last week's statewide crackdown on dangerous driving along I-94, which resulted in a couple of hundred tickets
Michigan State Police said more than 480 traffic stops were made from Southwest Michigan all the way up to Port Huron. More than half of those stops resulted in a ticket, while 34 arrests were made.
The "Lake to Lake, Focused and SAFE" initiative targeted distracted and aggressive driving to enhance road safety, reduce crashes, educate drivers, and increase law enforcement presence with multi-agency support.
The top reason drivers were stopped was speed, MSP said, followed by illegally tinted windows and cell phone use.
