Police say 14-year-old Detroit girl who went missing a week ago has been recovered

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Detroit Police say a 14-year-old girl who was missing for a week in the city has been recovered.

Police said Alaya Thomas was last seen on Friday, September 13, at her home on Seven Mile near Schoenherr Rd., when she left without permission.


On Sept. 20, police sent an update stating that the teen was recovered.

Police did not say where she'd been, and no further information was provided.
