Police say problem of kids with guns is "out of control" in Detroit — What can be done to stop the violence?

(WWJ) In Detroit today, a 16-year-old boy was charged with premediated murder for shooting and killing a 13-year-old boy as he stood in front of his home.

On Sunday, two teenage girls were shot during a party at Penrod and Joy Road.

In all over the weekend, there were 24 nonfatal shootings and 7 homicides in Detroit, according to police.

Amid the rash of summer gun violence in the city, police say there are far too many shootings involving kids.
