(WWJ) Michigan State Police are searching for suspects as they investigate a freeway shooting that happened over the weekend.

A woman told police she was driving northbound on the Southfield Freeway near McNichols Rd. early Saturday morning, when a white Suburban or Yukon SUV with tinted windows pulled in front of her and slammed on the brakes.

The woman was able to avoid a collision, police said, but the suspect then pulled up beside her and fired two shots at her vehicle.

The suspect continued to flee northbound and exited the freeway at 7 Mile Road.

The woman was not injured.

MSP troopers recovered one round from the victim's vehicle and another from the freeway.

There have been no arrests in the case, as of late Monday morning.

Detectives are reviewing freeway camera recordings as the investigation continues.
