(WWJ) -- After 40 drawings that saw no success, one lucky person hit it big during Monday night’s Powerball drawing.

A single ticket sold in California matched all six numbers to win nearly $700 million.

The jackpot had climbed to $699.8 million, making it the seventh largest Powerball prize in U.S. lottery history.

The winner will be able to choose between the annuity option paid over 29 years, or a cash option of $496 million. Both payouts are subject to taxes.

The lucky numbers drawn were 12, 22, 54, 66 and 69, with a Powerball number of 15.

Following last night’s big win, the jackpot now resets to $20 million. The next drawing is set for Wednesday at 10:59 p.m.
