ROSEVILLE (WWJ) -- Firefighters in Roseville saved a slew of animals from a burning residential building last night.
The fire broke out at the Utica Oaks Condominiums on Utica Road on Monday evening, and first responders were able to successfully rescue one dog and four cats from the blaze.
Battalion Chief Scott Bala tells WWJ that human life is top priority when conducting a rescue mission, but once people are accounted for, firefighters immediately start looking for pets, who they know are like family.
The blaze was quickly extinguished and no injuries were reported.
Fire officials are continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to the fire.
