On Monday, Woods was fleeing from police in stolen pickup truck and drove over a sidewalk to avoid capture and sped through a stop sign at 80 mph.

He then crashed into a Ford Fusion at Cass and South Rose Street killing 58-year-old Linda Jozefiak of Harrison Township.

Macomb County Assistant Prosecutor John Paul Hunt said bystanders helped Woods out of the truck but he still tried to run.

"He shed his jacket in an attempt to change his identity and stole a 20 inch kid's bicycle," said Macomb County Prosecutor Pete Lucido.

Lucido said Woods is currently being held in the Macomb County Jail with a $1 million bond.

According to authorities, Woods is a four-time convicted home invader and was on probation for home invasion and vehicle theft.
