(WWJ) Washtenaw and all of Wayne County are under a severe thunderstorm warning until 8:30 p.m. Southwestern Macomb County and Oakland County were under a warning that expired earlier this evening.
The original storm extended from Clarkston to Rochester, to near Macomb Township, with the storm moving south at 20 miles per hour, but picked up speed as it moves over Wayne County.
Accuweather says 60 mph wind gusts were possible. Residents could expect possible damage to roofs, trees, siding and power outages. Get indoors if the storm is in your area.
The storm will be around Warren, St. Clair Shores, and Birmingham around 7:15 p.m.,over the Detroit Zoo around 7:20 and over Southfield around 7:25.
At about 7:27 the storm was detected along the line extending from South Lyon to West Bloomfield to near the Detroit Zoo, moving at 30 miles per hour.
Accuweather said the storm will be near Livonia at 7:35, Detroit around 7:40, Dearborn around 7:45, and Downtown Detroit, Canton and Belle Isle around 7:50. It's expected to be near Trenton around 8:05, Trenton and Belleville around 8:20, and Flat Rock and Grosse Ile at 8:25.
Other Oakland and Macomb County communities that may be impacted by the severe storms include Roseville, Franklin, Farmington, Farmington Hills, Shelby Township, Lathrup Village, Utica, Auburn Hills, Bingham Farms, Lake Angelus, Pleasant Ride, Center Line, Huntington Woods.
The other Wayne County locations that may be affected by the storms include Melvindale, Ecorse, Melvindale, Gibraltar, Westland, Grosse Pointe, New Boston and Rockwood.
The storm has already passed through Macomb Township, Troy, Sterling Heights, Mt. Clemens, and Royal Oak.
