(WWJ) The National Weather Service has announced a severe thunderstorm warning for Wayne, Monroe, Washtenaw and Lenawee counties until 12 p.m., predicting heavy rain, high winds and hail.
Just after 10:30 a.m., Accuweather noted that Doppler radar had picked up a line of thunderstorms near Morenci, moving northeast at 55 miles per hour.
The worst of the wind -- potentially blowing at 60 miles per hour -- is expected to pass south of Metro Detroit, affecting areas around Monroe, Adrian and Dundee.

In Wayne and Washtenaw County, though, gusts could still reach up to 40 miles per hour. Forecasters also predict pea-size hail in addition to the heavy rains brought by the storm system.
Anyone outside, including those attending the spring game at Michigan Stadium, should take cover until at least 12 p.m.
If you are able to, take a moment to secure outdoor furniture and trash cans, move cars from under trees, as the gusts will blow objects around and knock down tree limbs, with the potential to cause significant property damage.
Although the thunderstorms are expected to be serious, they will likely pass through quickly.
