
(WWJ) – Fireworks are synonymous with the Fourth of July in Michigan – right alongside cookouts, beach outings and family time.
But since 2011, the intensity of fireworks has grown. That was the year Michigan reformed fireworks laws, greatly reducing the number of fireworks that were illegal in the state and expanding times it’s legal to use them.
While many will be happily partaking in some fireworks action this holiday weekend, some people – and their pets – dread it. In a new Daily J podcast, WWJ’s Zach Clark learns why the Fourth can be such a tough time on many people, and some things that can be done to cope.
