DETROIT (WWJ) Detroit Police arrested six people at an illegal block party on the city's northwest side, where a suspect also assaulted an officer.
Detroit Police said their officers were called to the area of Plainview and Pembroke, in the area of Evergreen and Eight Mile, to break up an illegal block party. They received the call on Friday (8/9) around 11:15 p.m.
Police told WWJ "some sort of disruption" happened, leading to an assault of an officer. During the incident, the officer had his weapon drawn. He tried to holster it, but it discharged.
No one was injured.
According to police, officers tasered two of the suspects. One of the suspects had a gun.
Officers took six people into custody. No other details were released.
