(WWJ) After some dangerous moments for drivers along I-94, early Friday morning, the commute is looking clear again.

Multiple spinout crashes were reported between the Harper and Vernier overpasses on Detroit's east side, as drivers dealt with icy conditions on the freeway.

Commuters had to squeeze between multi-vehicle pileups, while tow trucks worked to clear the scenes after several crashes.

The service drives were glittery with a light but slippery, and at time treacherous, snow covering.

While photos showed what looked like a pretty bad situation on I-94 in Detroit, there were no immediate reports of any serious injuries in any of these crash. There was at least one ambulance on the scene.

Meanwhile, some residents in Detroit are still waiting for their neighborhood streets to be plowed following the early-week snow dump.

This includes Bill Coleman, who lives on Wisconsin St. in the Fenkell-Wyoming area.

"We never saw a plow come down the street," he told WWJ's Mike Campbell. "A block down you can hardly get through. You can get stuck easily."

The City of Detroit had set a Wednesday morning deadline to have *all* city side streets clear, but Mayor Mike Duggan admits it's still a work in progress.

AccuWeather Meteorologist DeVore says metro Detroit will get a break from the snow midday Friday, before snow showers are expected to pick back up Friday afternoon.

He said some snow showers, in the later afternoon into the evening, could be on the heavier side, with snow squalls a concern. Drivers should expect poor visibilities at times, when a quick coating to an inch or so falls in the Detroit area.
