(WWJ) Plan ahead for some slick and snow road conditions in metro Detroit this weekend — particularly Saturday night.
While some flurries were spotted around the area on Black Friday, a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect Saturday from 3 p.m. to midnight.
The first widespread snow accumulation of the season is expected on Saturday, with forecasters calling for 2 to 3 inches across most of the WWJ listening area.
"We've got snow at times, from west to east, arriving (Saturday) afternoon and evening, continuing into the nighttime and then finishing up by Sunday morning...maybe some leftover snow shower on Sunday," AccuWeather meteorologist Dean DeVore said on WWJ Newsradio 950 on Friday.
DeVore said the primary concern with this system will be slippery travel, Saturday night into Sunday morning.
Drivers are urged to slow down and use extra caution while traveling on the slick roadways.
Michigan State Police are reminding motorists to take it easy on the roads, saying "today is the day the troops in the district fear... first snow!"
Meanwhile, it'll be just about as cold as you'd expect... with lows in the 20s and highs in the upper 30s.
DeVore said there will be some more light snow on Monday, while temps will remain in the upper 30s.
