(WWJ) A gas leak at a senior citizens home in Oakland County's South Lyon has forced residents to shelter in place.
The city's fire chief says they were called to the Colonial Acres co-op on Potomac Drive around 11:30 a.m. Monday after a contracted crew for Xfinity hit a main gas line while working.
Early in the afternoon, fire crews were still on site waiting for Consumers Energy to arrive.
It's unclear at this time how long repairs may take.
In the meantime, Fire Chief Robert Vogel said residents have been told to stay in their units and keep their windows closed.
No illnesses or injuries in connection with the incident are being reported at this time.
