SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) -- Authorities are looking to the public to help them identify a young man who allegedly held up a local gas station last fall.
Officers first responded to the Sunoco gas station on Nine Mile and Lahser at 3 p.m. on September 16, 2022, following reports of an armed robbery.
According to police, the man entered the store carrying what appeared to be a black semi-automatic handgun which he pointed at the clerk, demanding money.
The suspect is described as African American male with a dark complexion in his late teens or early twenties. Between five feet, 5 inches and five feet, 8 inches tall, he has a thin build, short hair and no facial hair.
Photos from surveillance footage show him wearing gold-rimmed glasses with dark lenses, a black long-sleeved shirt, black pants and gray gym shoes.

Fortunately, no one was injured during the confrontation, but the gunman did escape with around $130 in cash.
