MADISON HEIGHTS (WWJ) -- Michigan State Police are investigating a reported shooting on I-696 that happened on Tuesday night.
A semi-truck driver told MSP that he was shot at on the eastbound side of the freeway near Dequindre Road at about 7:00 p.m.
The freeway was shut down while police searched for a possible suspect, but they were unable to find any evidence pertaining to the shooting.
Officials did make contact with the owner of a car identified by the semi driver, and the man admitted to being in the area. However, he denied any involvement in the shooting.
There were no injuries reported in the incident.
