(WWJ) A suspected kidnapper is in custody following a successful maneuver by Michigan State Police on a Detroit freeway.
On Monday, troopers with the Metro South Post were assisting the Second District Surveillance Team in tracking a suspect wanted for a kidnapping in Ohio, police said.
The team had located the suspect traveling in a red Jeep SUV northbound on the Lodge Freeway in Detroit.
Troopers used a "rolling roadblock" to avoid the suspect fleeing and starting a pursuit — which could have been dangerous for others on the freeway.
The wanted suspect was then arrested without incident and taken to jail to await extradition to Ohio.
MSP released dash cam video showing the roadblock, noting that the footage stops before the suspect and passenger can be seen as they have not been charged with a crime.
No details about the alleged Ohio kidnapping were immediately released.
