(WWJ) -- Michigan State Police lending a helping hand to an Oakland County resident that was missing a donkey.

Troopers from the Metro North post were dispatched to a home in Holly Township last night, where "Dolly Parton" (not to be confused with the legendary singer) a miniature donkey had escaped through an open gate to her pasture.

Troopers were sent to the area to help the owners try to find their beloved Dolly. Troopers searched the surrounding area and were eventually able to locate Dolly strutting along a roadway nearby. They managed to get her back to her owners unharmed.

“Troopers assigned to northern Oakland County often find themselves dispatched to locate missing animals in the area,” said F/Lt. Mike Shaw. “We have located Potato the lost dog, cows along I-75 and now Dolly the miniature donkey. When you join the Michigan State Police, you just don’t know where the day will take you!”
