STERLING HEIGHTS (WWJ) -- A 30-year-old Macomb County man could spend decades in prison after he was arrested and charged in a child pornography investigation.
Nicholas Ibrahim of Sterling Heights was arraigned in 41A Sterling Heights District Court on Thursday on a total of eight felony charges.
According to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office, Ibrahim was taken into custody on Tuesday after a search warrant was served and several pieces of evidence were seized from his home, which are now under forensic review.
The Macomb Area Computer Enforcement (M.A.C.E.) Detectives, along with the Sheriff's Enforcement Team (SET), executed the warrant, officials said, after MACE Detectivities received information from the Michigan Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force via the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) indicating numerous CSAM (child sexually abusive material) videos and images were allegedly uploaded by the suspect.
Ibrahim is charged by the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office with the following:
• Count 1: Child Sexually Abusive Material – Aggravated Possession (10-year felony)
• Count 2: Child Sexually Abusive Material – Aggravated Possession (10-year felony)
• Count 3: Child Sexually Abusive Material – Aggravated Possession (10-year felony)
• Count 4: Computers – Using to Commit a Crime (10-year felony)
• Count 5: Computers – Using to Commit a Crime (10-year felony)
• Count 6: Computers – Using to Commit a Crime (10-year felony)
• Count 7: Child Sexually Abusive Material – Aggravated Possession (4-year felony)
• Count 8: Computers – Using to Commit a Crime (4-year felony)
The sheriff's office said Ibrahim posted a $2,500 cash/surety bond and was released following his arraignment.
There is no information about future court dates at this time.
