DETROIT (WWJ) -- We're keeping an eye on the sky with strong to severe thunderstorms in the forecast for Metro Detroit on Tuesday.
According to the National Weather Service, the biggest concerns with these storms are damaging winds and an isolated tornado possible — with the most likely window between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m.
In the Metro Detroit area, WWJ AccuWeather Meteorologist Joe Lundberg said it'll be an "unsettled day" weather-wise.
"We're expecting a couple of showers and a thunderstorm to roll through the area during the course of the day — particularly this afternoon and early tonight," he said. "There could be some brief downpours associated with any one of those thunderstorms."
Although there is only a "marginal risk," these storms will turn severe, the NWS said people across the Southeast Michigan should be prepared for the possibility of strong wind gusts, lightning, heavy rain and flooding.
Due to uncertainty surrounding the weather, the Tigers-Rays baseball game at Comerica Park, which had been scheduled for Tuesday evening, was moved up to 1:10 p.m. (If you had tickets to the originally scheduled 6:40 p.m. game, they will be good for the 1:10 p.m. game, or you can exchange them for any other regular season game).
In Detroit, the forecasted high for Tuesday is 73 degrees, with a low of 63 overnight.
Looking ahead into the week, AccuWeather says there's another chance for a shower in Metro Detroit on Wednesday, with a high of 73 degrees. Thursday and Friday are looking dry, with times of sun and clouds and highs in the mid-to-upper 70s. On Saturday, there could be a shower around with a high of 71.
