DETROIT (WWJ) – After a week of dealing with poor air quality in Metro Detroit, the area saw some rain on Saturday, and forecasters are expecting more of the same on Sunday.

AccuWeather meteorologist Matt Benz tells WWJ Sunday will remain humid with mostly cloudy skies, while there will be "a couple showers" and a thunderstorm to keep an eye on as well.

The thunderstorms could be locally heavy and capable of producing localized flooding, according to Benz.

The start times for Sunday's final round at the Rocket Mortgage Classic at the Detroit Golf Club were pushed up due to the impending weather.

The National Weather Service says Sunday's showers and thunderstorms are expected to bring an additional half to one inch of new rainfall, though some areas could see "closer to two inches by Monday morning."

Benz says Monday will remain humid as clouds break for sun, bringing a high of 81.

But as we hit the Fourth of July holiday on Tuesday, he says it will be "just hot." Tuesday's high is expected to reach 90 degrees, while the humidity will likely stick around the rest of the week.
