NEW BALTIMORE (WWJ) -- New Baltimore police are still searching for a young man wanted for robbing a bank on Tuesday.
After saying they were looking for a suspect 18 to 20 years old, police in the Macomb County community have named 18-year-old Jacob Edwards of Macomb Township as a person of interest in the Tuesday robbery, in downtown New Baltimore.
While Edwards continues to elude authorities, WWJ's Mike Campbell reports that police —who have been monitoring his social media postings — believe he's been just randomly driving around.
A recent post on Snapchat showed that Edwards he made a stop in Port Austin, in Michigan's Thumb area, according to investigators.
Police said Edwards may be driving a bronze or brown 2016 Volkswagen Jetta with Michigan license plate: 6NQN75.
The robbery took place around 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, at the Huntington Bank branch on Washington Street.
Although no one saw a weapon, bank workers said the suspect alluded to having a gun. No one was injured, and police did not say whether or not the man got away with any money.
At the time of the crime, police said the suspect was wearing a Jiffy Lube uniform, but it's believe he has since changed into a t-shirt and jeans.
Police say he should be considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone who sees the suspect, or who has information on his whereabouts or the whereabouts of the vehicle, is told not to approach and call New Baltimore Police at 586-725-2181, or 911.
