TROY (WWJ) -- Twin brothers have died in what appears to be a murder-suicide in Troy.

According to Troy police, a 911 call was received at 12:23 a.m. on Monday reporting a shooting at a residence on Lark Drive, near Wattles Road and Coolidge Highway. The caller, a 62-year-old male, told the dispatcher that he had been shot by his 23-year-old son.

Moments later, a second 911 call was made by a resident in the area reporting a vehicle crashed into a tree on Parrot Drive near Edgemont Drive.

Officers arrived at the residence on Lark Drive, and discovered the injured 62-year-old male upstairs. He was treated and transported to the hospital.

A 23-year-old male was found dead in the basement from an apparent gunshot wound. A 64-year-old woman was also at the home at the time of the shooting, but was uninjured.

The vehicle that crashed into a nearby tree was registered to the Lark residence.

The driver, a 23-year-old male, was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Authorities believe he is responsible for the shooting death of his twin brother in the basement of the home, and for shooting his father.  The family dog was also found shot and deceased in the backseat of the vehicle.

A single handgun was recovered in the crashed vehicle, and is believed to have been used in each shooting.

Investigators have reportedly spoken to the father, who remains in critical but stable condition at a local hospital.

All individuals involved are fully cooperating with the investigation.
