(WWJ) A Taylor teen who disappeared in November is back home safe with her family.
Taylor Police say 15-year-old Gloria Marie Alvarado has been found; although they're not saying where, or releasing any other details at this time.
There are media reports that she was "with a guy," but that information has not been confirmed by police.
Alvarado's parents said the straight-A student went missing without a trace on Nov. 1, 2020, when they found a cut window screen and noticed the teen's phone was left behind.
Police were called and collected a short video from a neighbor that showed a car pulling up in front of the home at around 1 a.m. A man was seen getting out of the vehicle before the video ended, and the parents feared foul play.
At a news conference, in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Michigan, mother Tina Alvarado lamented that her daughter had "vanished out of thin air. "
"I can barely even function," she told WWJ's Jon Hewett. "But I have to stay strong for her, because I center my strength every day. I pray to God that she's OK and safe."
While Tina Alvarado can breathe easier again, the same cannot be said for the family of another long-missing Taylor teen.
In the case of 14-year-old Marisa Peters, her parents received disturbing text messages they believed to be from their daughter after she disappeared from her grandmother's home in May of 2020.
The last of those messages, sent in September, indicated that Peters was tied up and being held in an abandoned building with another child.
Mary Beth Peters said she fear her daughter may be the victim of human trafficking.
Anyone with any information about Marisa Peters can call Taylor Police at 734-287-6611 or the Crime Stoppers tip line at 1-800-Speak Up (1-800-773-2587). As always, all calls to Crime Stoppers are 100% anonymous.
