DEARBORN HEIGHTS (WWJ) – A teen is hospitalized after being hit by a car while crossing the road in Dearborn Heights Monday afternoon, according to multiple reports.
Telegraph Road was shut down near Ford Road for about three hours Monday afternoon following the crash. It reopened around 3 p.m.
Authorities have not released any details about the incident, but multiple reports say a teen believed to be around 16 years old was trying to cross Telegraph when they were hit and dragged.
It was not immediately clear whether the teen was using a crosswalk to cross the busy four-lane road.
The teen was reportedly listed in critical condition at the hospital, but the extent of their injuries was not clear.
The driver who reportedly hit the teen remained on-scene and was cooperating with police, but it was not clear what type of vehicle they were driving.
