Teen hospitalized after struck by gunfire on Detroit's east side

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are continuing to investigate a non-fatal shooting that sent a teenager to a local hospital on Wednesday evening.

As reported by WXYZ, the incident happened just before 5:30 p.m. on Gable Street, near 7 Mile Road and Mound Road on Detroit's east side.

A teenager was injured and taken to a local hospital. The extent of the victim's injuries were not released by authorities.

Police were processing the scene for evidence during the evening hours. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear at this time.

It remains unknown if a suspect or suspects have been identified and if anyone is in custody in connection to the shooting.
