
SANILAC COUNTY (WWJ) - A 13-year-old boy riding a dirt bike was killed in a tragic crash with a other child driving an all-terrain vehicle on Memorial Day in Michigan's Thumb region, authorities say.
According to the Sanilac County Sheriff's Office, the incident happened around 1 p.m. on Monday, May 29, while the teen from Croswell was riding on private property in the 5500 block of East Peck Road in Lexington Township.
The 13-year-old was then stuck by a four-wheeler driven by an 8-year-old Port Huron boy, deputies said.
Sanilac County Sheriff's deputies responded to the scene with additional help from the Croswell Police and Fire Departments and Croswell EMS.
The teen was rushed to McLaren Port Huron where he was pronounced dead.
An investigation into the incident remains ongoing at this time. No other information was released by authorities.
