(WWJ) A Texas man has been charged in the deadly shooting of a Monroe County woman.
Austin Lucas, 28, of Plano, Texas has been denied bond and is currently being held at the Monroe County Jail.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office said they responded to the shooting on Wednesday around 10:30 p.m. at the Shady Creek RV and Park Resort (also known as Camp Lord Willing) on Stumpmier Road, in the area of Heiss and Telegraph.
He shot Joy Boswell, 35, in the face while she was in her car, then ran away from the scene, according to the Sheriff.
Boswell died at the hospital from her injuries.
A deputy with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office found Lucas covered in blood, walking on the side of Steiner Road, just north of the crime scene.
He was taken into custody. The Monroe County Prosecutor's Office has charged Lucas with Open Murder and one count of Felony Firearms.
The Detroit News reported Lucas and Boswell were staying together at the camp. However, further details of their relationship have not been released.
