DETROIT (WWJ) Police are searching for the suspect(s) who fired "multiple rounds" into a home on Detroit's west side, striking a 3-year-old girl.

Detroit Police said the suspect(s) ran up behind the house and opened fire into it. The shooting happened Saturday, November 9th, around 4:25 p.m. on Manor at Keeler, in the area of Wyoming and The Lodge Freeway.

The little girl was was struck in the leg. She was treated and stabilized, before she was rushed to Children's Hospital of Michigan, police said.

The suspects ran away from the scene and remain on the loose.

"I can't stress enough that these cowards want to run up behind a house and fire into a home," Assistant Police Chief Charles Fitzgerald said during a press briefing. "We're very, very early in the investigation. We're going to leverage every bit of assets we have as far as technology, cameras and try to bring these individuals to justice."

Officers also have a K9 on the ground to search for the suspect(s), according to Fitzgerald.

He said a mother, two younger children and a 14-year-old were at home at the time of the shooting. The toddler was the only one injured.

"Again, just a three-year-old watching her Mom play video games," Fitzgerald said.

The child is in stable condition. Anyone with information is asked to call Detroit Police or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak Up.
