PONTIAC (WWJ) -- The Oakland County Sheriff's Office is investigating an early morning crash and shooting in Pontiac over the weekend.
At around 1:40 a.m. on Sunday, OCSO deputies responded to a report of gunfire in the 700 block of East Beverly Ave., in a neighborhood near Pontiac High School.
Witnesses told investigators that a tan sedan rear-ended a white sedan near East Beverly Avenue and Arlene Street. After the impact, a man got out of the white car, walked up to the driver's side of the tan car, and fired multiple shots into the ground.
Both vehicles then fled westbound on East Beverly toward Joslyn Road.
Responding deputies found 10 spent 9 mm shell casings, one live round of ammunition, and vehicle debris in the road.
No property damage from bullets was found in the immediate area, officials said.
Investigators are looking over surveillance footage showing parts of the incident as they continue to learn more about what happened.
Anyone with information about the crash, the shooting, or the location of the vehicles involved is asked to call the Oakland County Sheriff's Office at 248-858-4950.
