TROY (WWJ) — A Troy man is in trouble with the law after being caught driving drunk on the Fourth of July.
Just before 4 a.m. last Thursday Troy police officers pulled the 34-year-old man over for speeding in a Honda Civic in the area of Rochester and Big Beaver Roads.
When officers spoke with him they immediately noticed the car smelled of alcohol.
After failing several field sobriety tests, the man submitted to a preliminary breath test, blowing a .22% BAC, according to Troy police.
The driver was arrested and taken to the Troy Police Lock-Up, where he refused to have his blood drawn. Eventually police got a search warrant to draw his blood to determine his BAC.
The case has been turned over to the department’s Detective Bureau for appropriate warrants once the blood results are returned.
The man’s name has not been released.
