TROY, Mich. (WWJ) -- Troy police say a woman was assaulted by her kids’ babysitter earlier this month.

Authorities say the woman was out and about on June 6 when she received a call around 7:20 p.m. from another woman who was babysitting her kids, requesting she come pick them up because they were misbehaving.

Police say when the mother arrived at the home in the 1000 block of East Wattles Road, she noticed the babysitter -- a 26-year-old woman from Troy -- was “roughly handling her kids.” Police did not disclose the ages of the children.

Police say the mother took issue with the babysitter’s alleged actions and confronted her.

A fight ensued, according to police, with the babysitter allegedly grabbing the mother’s hair, punching her in the face, and spilling coffee on her.

It was not clear whether the babysitter will be facing charges.
