TROY (WWJ) — A Lapeer County woman is in trouble with the law after allegedly driving drunk in Troy last month at more than three times the legal limit.
It happened around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13 in the area of Stephenson Highway and Maple Road, according to Troy police.
Officers got multiple calls early that morning about a red Ford F-150 “driving all over the road” and hitting multiple curbs before pulling into the Belle Tire parking lot on Rochester Road.
The driver, a 58-year-old woman from Imlay City, was checked out by paramedics in the parking lot and medically cleared before she failed several field sobriety tests.
The woman blew a .285% BAC on a preliminary breath test — more than three times the legal limit — and she was arrested and taken to the Troy Police Lock-Up. At the facility, she took two chemical breath tests, coming back with results of .313% and .342%, the latter of which is more than four times the legal limit.
The woman, whose name has not been released, was issued a citation under Michigan’s “super drunk” law for operating with a blood alcohol content of .17% or more.
