TROY (WWJ) – Last week, the Troy Police Department announced they were seeing an increase in vehicle break-ins and catalytic converter thefts.

This prompted an alert and reminder to residents to lock their cars and remove valuables whenever possible.

On January 11, the Troy Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit arrested Reggie Louis Miller, 26, in connection with several vehicle break-ins in Troy. He’s also suspected in the involvement in additional vehicle break-ins in the surrounding area.

Investigators say Miller would target unlocked cars and take valuable items.

Miller was arraigned in the 52-4 District Court on Tuesday, Jan. 13. He faces charges including two counts of Larceny from an Automobile, three counts of Stealing/Retaining a Financial Transaction Device, and one count of Breaking and Entering a Vehicle to Steal Property.

His bond was set at $6,000.

The Troy Police Department says the arrest was thanks to the efforts of the city’s patrol officers, detectives and Special Investigations Unit.
