WARREN (WWJ) - Former President Donald Trump will stop in Macomb County at the beginning of October to campaign for Republicans running for governor, secretary of state and attorney general, officials said on Thursday.
Trump's political committee announced that Trump will visit the Macomb County Community College Sports and Expo Center in Warren for a rally scheduled for October 1.
The former president's visit comes 38 days before Michigan's election on Nov. 8th, but absentee ballots will begin going out later this month.
According to the press release, the rally will bring together all three of the GOP nominees: governor candidate Tudor Dixon, attorney general candidate Matt DePerno and secretary of state candidate Kristina Karamo.
Trump has given his endorsement to Dixon, DePerno and Karamo -- described as the "Michigan Trump Ticket" by event organizers -- who all hope to beat out the Democratic incumbents Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Attorney General Dana Nessel and Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson in November.
As outlined by the release, doors for the rally will open at 2 p.m. with Trump scheduled to speak at 7 p.m.
This will be Trump's first visit to Michigan, and to Macomb County, after he last spoke at event on April 2 in Washington Township.
The upcoming election on November will prove competitive for a number of positions in the U.S. House. Michiganders will also get to vote on every seat in the state Legislature.
