MONROE (WWJ) -- Monroe County Sheriff Troy Goodnough has revealed the department's Valentine's Day Weekend Special, a campaign aimed at getting citizens to turn in exes with outstanding warrants.

"Our Valentine’s Day Weekend Special was so successful last year that we have decided to run it again!" MCSO announced in a Friday press release.

According to the announcement, anyone who knows of an ex with an outstanding warrant, or who may be in possession of drugs or illegal weapons, is asked to call MCSO with that person's location.

"We will take care of the rest," the department says.

In keeping with the theme, the press release states that offenders taken into custody as part of the Valentine's Day "Special" will receive:

-- a set of limited-edition platinum bracelets
-- free transportation with a chauffeur
-- a one-night minimum stay with luxurious five-star accommodations
-- a professional glamour shot that may be posted online for all to enjoy
-- a very special Valentine's Day dinner

MCSO seems to be in a generous mood, encouraging local residents to turn in as many delinquent exes as they would like.

"We know this special is so incredible that you may be tempted to provide additional referrals," the department wrote. "We do not blame you, this special is too sweet to pass up!"

Reports on the weekend operation have received mixed reviews, and the post on the official MCSO Facebook page has limited which users can comment.

Anyone who does wish to turn in an ex-Valentine can contact MSCO at 734-243-7070.
