PORT HURON (WWJ) Two Ontario men were arrested in two separate drug busts--totaling over $40 million-- on the Canadian side of the Blue Water Bridge.

The Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) said the first happened at the port of entry in Point Edward, Ontario on August 13--  when border services officers found suspected cocaine in six boxes. The narcotics weighed a total of 330 pounds and had an estimated street value of $18.8 million, the CBSA said.

CBSA officers arrested Gurjeet Singh, 28, of Brampton, Ontario.

One day later, border services officers found approximately 483 pounds of suspected cocaine in a tractor-trailer coming from the U.S. The drugs had an estimated street value of nearly $25 million, according the CBSA.

The CBSA arrested Abdikadir Egal, 38, of Etobicoke, Ontario in connection to the second drug bust. Officers transferred both suspects and their narcotics to the custody of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Both were charged with Importation of Cocaine, and Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The investigation is ongoing.
