(WWJ) A tragic scene unfolded on I-94 in Ypsilanti Township early Saturday morning.
Michigan State Police (MSP) say two construction workers were struck and killed near Harris Rd., around 1:40 a.m.
Both men died at the scene.
MSP identified the driver as a Belleville woman, 29, who was taken into custody on two counts of Operating While Intoxicated Causing Death. She is currently at the Washtenaw County Jail.
The victims have been identified as Nicholas Andres Sada and Davyon Desmon-Aerealiles Rose. They were both 23 years old and Lansing residents.
On Twitter, MSP pleaded with drivers to slow down and be careful: "Please Give These Workers A Brake! Slow down in our work zones."
