ANN ARBOR (WWJ) - Police are asking for the public's help in locating a suspect vehicle involved in a hit-and-run that left a University of Michigan student with severe leg injuries on Monday afternoon.
Ann Arbor Police said the pedestrian-vehicle crash occurred around 2:45 p.m. on March 6 at the intersection of Catherine Street and Ingalls Street. The victim, identified as a 21-year-old university student, was walking southbound and attempted to cross the intersection when she was hit.
The driver did not stop after striking the victim and was last seen continuing westbound on Catherine.
"The victim suffered significant lower leg injuries which will require surgery," the department continued in an update to social media on Tuesday. "She was transported to University of Michigan Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries."
Investigators believe the vehicle involved in the crash is a dark gray 2021 Dodge Charger -- police said it would have minor damage to the front right part of the car and a missing passenger side mirror.
