(WWJ) -- It’s happened before, and will surely happen again.
Michigan’s Upper Peninsula has once again gone neglected -- this time by the United States Census Bureau.
In a Twitter video showing which states gained or lost seats in the U.S. House of Representatives -- as well as Electoral College votes -- after the bureau released results of the 2020 U.S. Census Monday, the U.P. was not pictured as part of Michigan.
It was also a little misshapen.
After social media outcry from Yoopers and non-Yoopers alike, the Census Bureau updated its graphic on Tuesday.
This, sadly, isn’t an uncommon occurrence for the U.P., though. Like the time Mountain Dew thought it belonged to the Badger State.
It’s also been identified as a lake or even completely omitted, before.
But Yoopers are always quick to the spot on Twitter.
Let this be a geography lesson, America. The Upper Peninsula exists. And it belongs to Michigan.
