(WWJ) – Authorities have arrested a teen suspect in connection with a shooting Monday night that killed two people and left two others injured in Ypsilanti Township.

Tamar Young was arrested Thursday afternoon for the shooting, which happened around 7 p.m. Monday on George Place. The shooting reportedly left a 16-year-old and a 20-year-old dead, though authorities have not confirmed the victims' ages.

While an exact motive in the shooting remains unclear, authorities identified the 19-year-old Young as the suspect earlier Thursday. Officials say he opened fire on a car, hitting all four people inside. The other two victims are expected to survive.

The U.S. Marshals Service said earlier Thursday that Young has a criminal history that includes weapons offenses, according to WDIV. He was arrested within hours of authorities releasing his picture.

Authorities did not immediately say where Young was taken into custody or whether he knew the victims prior to the shooting.
