(WWJ) The US Marshal Service is now assisting Farmington Hills Police in a search for a murder suspect on the run.
Kevin Curtis Moore, 43, of Detroit has been identified by police as the suspect wanted in a fatal shooting at a home in the 35000 block of Concord Lane, near 12 Mile Rd. and Drake, in Farmington Hills last Friday.
Early that morning, officers responded to a 911 call about shots fired and found the resident, 40-year-old Dejuan White, suffering from a gunshot wound.
White died in the hospital, police said, but not before he was able to identity Moore — described as a lifelong friend — as the shooter.
Before shooting White, police said it's believed that Moore shot his girlfriend in Detroit. She remains hospitalized.
Moore — also known as "K.C." — is described as a 6’ 1”, 220 pound Black male, with a tattoo of a Chinese symbol on his right arm. He was last seen wearing black shorts and a black t-shirt and driving a 2006 dark green Chevy Trailblazer with the license plate EKS 0786.
Charges of premeditated first degree murder and felony use of a firearm were expected to be filed Tuesday by the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office.
US Marshals Commander Aaron Garcia, who's leading a task force on this case, had a message for Moore as the manhunt continues:
"You're going to get caught. If you wanna do the right thing, just surrender. Call up the police department, call up Farmington Hills, call up the US Marshals, call up Crime Stoppers," Garcia said, at a Tuesday news conference. "We'll gladly meet you with a team of guys; no problem."
Moore should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who see him should not approach or confront him, but should call 911 immediately.
