DETROIT (WWJ) - A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest in the case of a slain Macomb County man who was gunned down while working at a Detroit liquor store over the weekend.

According to Detroit Police, 43-year-old Thair Dado, of Sterling Heights, was at his part time job Saturday morning at All Stars Beverage Liquor Store on West Chicago when he was fatally shot.

As stated in a Crime Stoppers press release on the case, Dado was taking out the trash at 4:15 a.m. when he noticed a group of males attempting to steal his car.

Dado tried to stop the alleged carjackers, but at least one of the suspects produced a gun and shot him.

All of the suspects, including the shooter, fled the scene in the victim's car, which was described as a red Hyundai, possibly an Elantra, with silver rims and heavy front end damage with the front bumper missing, Crime Stoppers stated.

The 43-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. He is survived by his wife, Zina Francis, and his 16-year-old son, Steven.

The family members created a GoFundMe, where Dado was remembered as a devoted, hardworking man, a loving husband and amazing father.

"Tragically, Thair's light was extinguished by an act of violence, leaving a void that can only be filled with compassion and support," the crowdfunding page said. "As the sole provider, his untimely departure has cast a heavy burden on his family, especially his wife and 16-year-old son."

On Friday, February 9, police do not have anyone in custody and are continuing to work the case with Crime Stoppers announcing a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest in Dado's murder.

Information submitted to Crime Stoppers is 100% anonymous. Tipsters can call 1-800-SPEAK-UP (773-2587) or go online here.

Rewards are paid when tips lead to an arrest. Crime Stoppers does not wait for a conviction.
