DETROIT (WWJ) – St. Andrew’s Hall in Downtown Detroit is temporarily closing after a scary moment during a rap concert on Tuesday night.

Officials say they are planning to repair a loose joint in the floor at the venue after video shared online showed it flexing during a Baby Keem show on Tuesday.

The rapper and venue officials put a stop to the show because the floor was flexing as fans were jumping. Video from underneath the show in a separate venue called The Shelter shows the floor flexing in a big way.

The Detroit Fire Department was called to the scene as it was evacuated.

A structural engineer was called to the venue on Thursday, and St. Andrew’s was deemed unsafe. The venue will be closed while the floor joint is repaired.

Some shows will have to be rescheduled or relocated.

The venue holds 1,000 people and city officials are now investigating whether St. Andrew’s was overcapacity at the time of the Baby Keem concert.

Many people are commending Baby Keem for getting on the microphone and telling his fans they had to leave because it was unsafe.

Baby Keem, from Las Vegas, vowed to return to Detroit in an explicit tweet.
