ANN ARBOR (WWJ) - Tree Town is set to receive a special visit from the executive office this week as Vice President Kamala Harris travels to Metro Detroit, the White House announced on Monday.

The event Harris is set to attend is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 12, although few details were provided to the public.

"The vice president will travel to Ann Arbor, Michigan for a conversation highlighting the Biden-Harris Administration's historic and ongoing work to combat the climate crisis," the White House said in short statement.

The statement did not clarify any one else who might be in attendance.

Harris is scheduled to come to Ann Arbor one day after the new Michigan state legislature begins its session and it is the third visit Michigan has received from the country's highest office in the past three months.

President Joe Biden traveled to Bay City back in November to talk on several points, including the auto industry, the U.S. economy and more.

Harris was last in Metro Detroit in October to attend a private fundraiser, a Detroit showcase supporting the administration's semiconductor production efforts, and a voter education presentation with students in Southfield.
