DETROIT (WWJ) -- An east side Detroit store owner is hoping that images caught on his security cameras can help police track down a group of thieves that got away with a lot of merchandise.

Early in the morning of Monday, Sept. 8, police said at least men broke in to J BEE'S clothing store on Gratiot Ave.

In one camera shot released by Detroit Police on Wednesday, you can see a suspect with a flashlight, peering into a door.

The thieves were all wearing masks, and hats or hoodies, covering everything but their eyes.

They smashed windows and a gate to get inside the store and garb everything they could: high-end merchandise displayed on racks, tables and shelves, leaving them empty.

J BEE'S owner Waheed Ahmed said around $90,000 worth of clothing was taken. He estimates the crooks were in and out in less than ten minutes.

Detroit Police believe this same crew attempted to break into a recreation center near the Jefferson Chalmers neighborhood that same morning.

They broke several windows, but did not manage to get inside.

Anyone who may be able to help identify these suspects is asked to call the DPD's 5th precinct at 313-596-5540, 9th precinct at 313-596-5940, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak-Up. Tipsters can also submit information anonymously via DetroitRewards.tv.
