WARREN (WWJ) A Lincoln High School teacher and two parents were arraigned on drug charges in Warren.
The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office said, on New Year’s Eve, Warren police officers observed a "brief transaction" take place between high school teacher Christopher Filiccia (not pictured) and one of the parents, Deangelo Daniel, in the parking lot of the 7-11 at Schoenherr and 12 Mile.
Both men drove out of the parking lot in their own vehicles. Police conducted a traffic stop on Filiccia, 46. Officers found drugs in his car; according to prosecutors.
Daniel, 42, fled from officers, but they eventually took him into custody. They conducted a search warrant on his home where he lives with his children.
“Drugs and firearms were…found in the home and accessible to children,” the press release from the prosecutor’s office said.
Officers then conducted a traffic stop on Racquel Dubose, 35, who lives with Daniel and his children. They found a stolen gun in her car; prosecutors said.
"The charges brought against these individuals are deeply troubling, particularly given their roles within the community,” Macomb County Prosecutor Pete Lucido said. “One is entrusted with shaping the minds of our youth as a teacher, and the other two are parents. The impact of their alleged actions fractures the trust within our schools, destabilizes families, and casts a shadow over our community’s sense of safety.”
According to the Lincoln High School staff directory, Filiccia teaches Health and PE. Lincoln High School, located in the area of 9 Mile and Van Dyke, is the only high school in Van Dyke Public Schools-- which serves parts of Warren and a small section of Centerline. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, about 515 students attend Lincoln High.
